Schnitzel (Breaded Beef Cutlet)

  • 1lb beef (thinly sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil


Step 1. Wash and tenderize the meat
Step 2. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 3. Cut into medium sized slices 6-7 inches long and 2-4 inches wide.
Step 4. Pour the flour in a plate.
Step 5. In a deep dish, mix the egg with in 1 T. of water and beat.
Step 6. Season the egg mix with salt and pepper.
Step 7. Run the cutlet through the flour, then the egg.
Step 8. Heat a frying pan to hot, and add the oil just before you add the cutlets.
Step 9. Fry the cutlets on each side until golden brown.
Step 10. Serve warm with mashed potato, rice or grilled vegetables.
